Meet Cheryl McBride
I didn’t set out to follow one path in glass—I’ve always been drawn to the process of discovering what it can become.
Working with fused glass allows me to experiment, layer, and push ideas in new directions. Some pieces come from structure, others from instinct. It’s a balance of control and letting the material lead.
Glass Desert Studio is where contemporary design, color, and craftsmanship come together. While the desert often shapes my visual language, my work is not limited to one style—I create everything from sculptural and abstract pieces to meaningful custom commissions.
Time spent in the desert continues to shape how I see and create. Its raw textures, shifting light, and ancient dwellings quietly find their way into the work.

Each piece begins as individual sheets of glass—designed, cut, and carefully arranged. Through heat, gravity, and precise kiln schedules, the fragments fuse into one. Opening the kiln reveals the final form, a moment of transformation that never gets old.
